- WHAT IS 4024 IN TUNING EXAMPLES
-
- > Another question i had is in regard to Tonalities. The tonalities in your

- >values between a semitone. I assume that this number comes from the fact
- >that most synths have a default pitch bend range of 200 cents, or two
- >semitones. In this case then the number of pitch bend values between a
- >semitone, would be half of the positive range of the MIDI pitch bend spec.
- >By my calculations however, this number should then be 4096, as the MIDI
- >pitch bend is a 14 bit bipolar message, 7 bits being used on either side of
- >0. This means 8192 values for two semitones, and 4096 for one, when the
- >pitch bend range is 200 cents. Where does the 4024 come from?
-
- Use 4096 and adjust the synth tuning wheel responce to one semitone. 4024
- was sounding better in the tunings I was experimenting. After all, it is
- the ear that decides what is good or bad sounding so feel free to try out
- fine tunings.
